Local Parent Group Speaks Out, RE: Voting

A Tucson based parent group, recently gathered at Mountain View High School in Marana, voiced extreme concern for the low voter turnout in the March election. As the voting days near, the Arizona Education Network encouraged all to be informed and to simply vote.  Marana Unified School District Superintendent, Dr. Doug Wilson, told the gathering of parents and staff, “An informed electorate is really very, very important in order to save our state.” Melissa Megna, AEN co-founder explains  - Arizona’s K-12 funding is $6,248 per pupil whereas the national average is $9,389. May 18th – Special 1 Cent Sales Tax Increase Election

August 24th – Primary Elections

November 2nd – National and Local Election Day
