A flat tax of 11% of ALL Americans would bring in more money to the government that they are bringing in today – but of course we would tick off a ton of liberals who now reside in their parents’ basements. But at this point if something is not done to reign in spending and taxes we will all be living there.

This is an 18% increase, not a 1% increase: (current tax is 5.6%; proposed tax is 6.6%; 5.6%*1.18% = 6.6%)

i as a student strongly disagree with the proposed budget cuts in the fundings of eduacation in our schools. this means that highschools could be cutting programs such as sports,music, and clubs. in addition, schools are considering cuts to elective programs. electives suach as business,culinary,drama,art,piano,guitar,woods,and other electives could be taken away as a result of the lack of sufficient funding. additionally,daily transportation to an from school,field trips, and transportation to competitions may also be cut. not only that, but classes may be significantly larger because teaching positions may be cut.

This is indeed good news. I deliberately moved into the Vail District when the Lutheran Churches in Tucson were unsuccessful in establishing a Lutheran High School. I have been most impressed with the Vail District. As a retiree from the Pima Community College District I watched a very efficient community college become a bloated bureacracy hampered and slowed from doing anything innovative. Vail District is the polar opposite of my experience at Pima. Well done!

I am writing to my Congressman/Senators/Representatives and the President of the United States.

We should spend 20K per kid and give a huge pay raise to our teachers on merit. If their good keep them if not, get rid of them. All of our Vail teachers are Outstanding. Hit the substandard schools and make them perform for their money. But do not fund the prisoners of this state or others make them suffer not our children. Don’t dig out people from their debt because of their mistakes. Hold them accountable. What are we teaching our children.
Hold the CEOs accountable and the Public office holders. They are the examples to some of our children. Quit holding the hands of the incompetent and make them accountable.
